West Chester Women's Gymnastics Places Third At Big Red Invitational

ITHACA, N.Y.
- The West Chester University women's gymnastics team placed third at the Big Red Invitational inside Teagle Hall on the campus of Cornell University Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Rams topped SUNY Brockport with a score of 190.600 to 190.575. The Rams fell to Cornell, which finished with a top score of 193.625 and Ithaca College, which posted a 191.375.

West Chester's top scorers today were freshman Jessica Meakim (Downingtown,Pa) with a 9.800 on the vault, which was her career high. Meakim also had the top score on the floor with a 9.800. Junior Myranda Marshall (Lancaster,Pa) received a 9.825 on the uneven bars, which was her career high and also the number one spot on the bars at the meet. Sophomore Sarah Boyd (St Petersburg, Fla.) scored tops on her team with a 9.700 on the balance beam.

The Golden Rams also registered their highest vault score for the year today, coming in at 47.925.

West Chester is back in action Saturday, Feb. 17, at Ursinus.
