West Chester Gymnasts Place Second At Ken Anderson Invite

Meet Results

PHILADELPHIA – West Chester University's gymnasts set season highs on the beam and in its overall team score en route to a second-place finish at the 2018 Ken Anderson Invitational held inside McGonigle Arena on the campus of Temple University Saturday.

The second-place showing was West Chester's highest at the Ken Anderson Invitational since 2012. The Golden Rams (11-5) topped both Bridgeport and Ursinus while falling to host Temple. The win over Bridgeport is the first against the Knights since at least 2005 – covering 26 straight head-to-head competitions.

West Chester scored a 192.65 while Bridgeport came in at 191.075 and Ursinus at 185.175. Temple posted a winning score of 194.625. West Chester's 48.65 on the balance beam also marked a season best for the Golden Rams.

Leading the way in that event was sophomore Jordan Miranda (Winchester, Mass.), who placed second overall with a 9.775. Freshman Yoli Nodarse (Pompton Plains, N.J.) was fourth with a 9.75.

Fellow freshman Melanie Wojewoda (Amelia, Ohio) was fourth on the uneven bars with a 9.775 while senior Meghan Chan (Northvale, N.J.) was sixth with a 9.725. Jessica Meakim (Downingtown, Pa.) placed fourth on the floor exercise with a score of 9.775.
