West Chester Gymnasts Third At Rutgers Quad Meet

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – West Chester University's women's gymnastics squad placed third at the Rutgers quad meet Saturday evening, posting a 191.6 against Ohio State, Rutgers and Wisconsin-Whitewater.
 
West Chester (7-2) topped Wisconsin-Whitewater's 191.275. However, Ohio State won the quad with a score of 195.85 with Rutgers finishing second with a 194.8. West Chester surged past UW-Whitewater following the third rotation with its 48.1 on the vault.
 
The Golden Rams performed best on the vault and the floor exercise, eclipsing a score of 48 in each event. Sr., Meghan Chan (Northvale, N.J.) was seventh on the vault with a career-best 9.75. Lindsey Mathis (Waldorf, Md.) scored a 9.675. Sr., Madi Brent (Waxhaw, N.C.) posted a 9.75 on the floor to finish eighth overall. Fr., Jessica Meakim (Downingtown, Pa.) scored a 9.7.
 
Fr., Yoli Nodarse (Pompton Plains, N.J.) and So., Sarah Boyd (St. Petersburg, Fla.) each tied for 10th on the balance beam with scores of 9.7.
 
West Chester returns home Monday evening to Sturzebecker Health Science Center for a 7 p.m. dual meet against Ursinus College.
