West Chester Gymnasts Top Ursinus, 192.25-186.075

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester University's women's gymnastics team rolled to a 192.25-186.075 victory over visiting Ursinus College Monday evening in a non-league women's gymnastics meet inside Sturzebecker Health Science Center.

West Chester (8-2) posted its season high for a team score in the decisive win over Ursinus (0-2). The Golden Rams topped the Bears in all four events while taking first place individually in three of the four competitions. Additionally, West Chester claimed the top three spots on the uneven bars and the balance beam while taking the top two spots on the vault.

Yoli Nodarse (Pompton Plains, N.J.) won the balance beam with a score of 9.775, followed by teammates Emily Loughery (Telford, Pa.) and Sarah Boyd (St. Petersburg, Fla.) with a 9.7 each. Loughery also placed second on the floor exercise with a 9.75, tying teammate Madi Brent (Waxhaw, N.C.). Ursinus' Eleanor LaFountain won the floor with a 9.775.

Jessica Meakim (Downingtown, Pa.) won the vault with a 9.725 while Meghan Chan (Northvale, N.J.) was second with a 9.675. Myranda Marshall (Lancaster, Pa.) won the bars with a score of 9.7. Chan and Nodarse were second and third, respectively.

West Chester travels to the Big Red Invitational hosted by Cornell University on Saturday. The quad meet also includes Ithaca College and SUNY-Brockport. That meet gets under way inside Teagle Gym at 1 p.m.
