CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Coming off a big 6-3 victory over regional standout West Virginia Wesleyan on the road yesterday, the West Chester University women's tennis team headed to the Charleston Tennis Club on Sunday to square off against the University of Charleston.
Battling the No. 4 team in the NCAA DII Atlantic Regional rankings, the Golden Rams dropped an 8-1 decision to the Cougars (17-6) Sunday to put West Chester at 9-9 overall this season. Entering the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship at the second seed in the east, the Golden Rams will host East Stroudsburg (No. 3 seed) in a quarterfinals matchup at the South Campus Tennis Courts on Tuesday (April 17) at 3:30 p.m.

Julia Mowery (BETHLEHEM, PA./NOTRE DAME) and
Sofia Von der Heyde (EXTON, PA./GREAT VALLEY) closed out doubles action with an 8-5 loss at position three.
Rochford gave West Chester its lone point of the morning at No. 4 singles, downing Silvana Slusarciuc in straight sets (6-1,6-4) on Sunday.
