WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The No. 2 seed West Chester University women's tennis team handily defeated the third-seeded East Stroudsburg 5-0 at home on Tuesday afternoon to punch the Golden Rams' ticket to the semifinals of 2018 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship and a date with the No. 1 (West) Indiana University Pennsylvania on Friday.
The Golden Rams improve to 10-9 on the year following Tuesday's victory, while the visiting Warriors end the season with a 6-9 overall record after losing their 10th-straight outing against WCU.

The duo of
Leandra Roelker (ALLENTOWN, PA./SALISBURY) and
Elaina Rochford (WEST CHESTER, PA./HENDERSON) got Tuesday started with a dominating 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles before the tandem of
Julia Mowrey (BETHLEHEM, PA./NOTRE DAME) and
Sofia Von der Heyde (EXTON, PA./GREAT VALLEY) came out on top 8-2 at third flight to put the home team in front 2-0. The team of
Rylee Power (NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA/MARPLE NEWTOWN) and
Shannon Nixon (WYNCOTE, PA./CHELTENHAM) ended doubles action by securing an 8-3 victory at first position to give the Golden Rams a 3-0 lead heading into singles.
Nixon got her second win of the day (6-1,6-0) at No. 2 singles prior to Roelker clinching the match for West Chester with a 6-1,6-2 triumph at the No. 3 spot on Tuesday afternoon.
The Golden Rams will prepare for Friday's PSAC Semifinals match against IUP by traveling to Wilmington, Delaware to square off against Goldey-Beacom College in a non-conference affair tomorrow, April 17, at 3:00 p.m.
