WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University opens its home slate this afternoon on Hall of Fame Day at John A. Farrell Stadium. It marks the second time in the all-time series that West Chester will open its home slate against Gannon. The Golden Rams defeated the Golden Knights, 21-17, on that only other occasion in 2012.
West Chester is 71-23-2 overall in home openers since 1920 and 32-16 in home openers inside Farrell Stadium since it opened its gates in 1970. Additionally, the Golden Rams are 10-5 in home openers under current head coach

Gannon, featuring consensus first-team All-America running back Marcus Jones, is coming off a 35-32 loss at home to Southern Connecticut State, which also competes in the Northeast-10 Conference. The two teams combined for 40 points in the fourth quarter, including three touchdowns in the final minute of play, to break open what was a 14-13 contest in favor of SCSU through 45 minutes of play. Gannon held a 25-20 lead late when Southern Connecticut State scored on a 7-yard run and then returned an interceptoin for a touchdown to take the lead for good.
At halftime, West Chester University will introduce the crowd to the WCU Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2018. Seven former student-athletes and the 2008 women's lacrosse national championship team will be honored. The Hall of Fame banquet will be held Saturday evening at 7 p.m. inside Sykes Student Union ballrooms.
