DANBURY, CONN.- The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) released its Division II women's gymnastics Athletes of the Week on Wednesday afternoon and the Golden Rams captured two honors as
Jessica Meakim (Downingtown, Pa.) was named Athlete of the Week while
Yoli Nodarse (Pomtpon Plains, N.J.) earned Coaches Choice Honors.
The 2018 Rookie of the Year Meakim, earned her first weekly award in 2019 after placing second on the vault with a score of 9.375 before winning the floor exercise with a score of 9.825.
Nodarse led the team off in the floor exercise scoring a 9.675 helping the team to their best overall score for an event at the meet. Her score also placed her third for the floor exercise. Nodarse also competed on the balance beam for the team scoring a 9.65, which placed her in second for that event.
This marks the second week in a row that West Chester has captured an ECAC Weekly Award as freshman
Ashley Duke (Fredericksburg, Va.) was named freshman of the week to end last week.
West Chester will be back in action on Sunday afternoon on the road at Springfield College beginning at 1 p.m.Â
