WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University volleyball mounted a comeback against Mercyhurst University but ultimately fell, 3-1, to its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference rival.

The Golden Rams drops to 13-6 overall and 1-4 in PSAC play this season with the 13-25, 25-22, 23-25, 20-25 loss.

How it happened:
- West Chester stumbled out of the gate, losing seven of the final eight points to lose the first set by 12.
- The Golden Rams bounced back. Down 17-13, a kill by freshman Hailey Lewis (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown East) sparked a West Chester sparked a rally that saw the Golden Rams score 13 of the next 16 points.
- WCU held only a few leads in the final two sets.

Inside the numbers:
- Shaye Whiteman (Gettysburg, Pa. / Glenside), Rachel Robb (Blackwood, Pa. / Paul VI) and Emily Ahern (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown West) all reached double-digit digs with 19, 15 and 11, respectively.
- Lewis picked up three service aces to go along with four kills, a solo block and a dig.
- Ahern and freshman Jillian Borgerding (Highlands Rach, Colo. / Highlands Rach) contributed with 28 total assists between the two of them.
