EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - Kat Roncoroni (Lebanon Twp., N.J./Voorhees) scored the game-winning goal off a penalty corner with 3:00 left to play, lifting No. 1 West Chester to a 2-1 victory over No. 2 East Stroudsburg on the road at Whitenight Field Wednesday afternoon.
West Chester (15-0, 8-0 PSAC) takes over sole possession of first place in the league standings and remained unbeaten on the season. East Stroudsburg (14-2, 7-1) falls into second place in the standings and saw its seven-game winning streak snapped. The Golden Rams are now in the driver's seat for the opportunity to host the PSAC Championships next month with two league matches left against Kutztown and Mansfield.
How it Happened:
 * ESU's Becca Heffner stuffed in a rebound in the 11th minute to put the hosts up 1-0. It marked the first time this year that the Golden Rams trailed in a field hockey game.
 * West Chester senior
Sydney Ostroski (Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen) knotted things up when she put in a loose ball in the circle a little over 10 minutes after ESU's tally.
* Roncoroni then finished off a penalty corner with three minutes left on the clock to send the Golden Rams home a winner once again.
Inside the Box Score:
*
Claire Nielsen (Wescosville, Pa./Emmaus) made two saves in the win while ESU's Maddie Richie made seven stops.
* West Chester has only trailed for 10:25 of the team's 900 minutes played this fall. In fact, they have only played tied in a game for 124:03 of that same time period, meaning they have played with the lead nearly 85 percent of the time this season.

Amy Cohen's Remarks:
"It was good to see us face a little adversity, and I like how we responded," Cohen said. "It's a great feeling to win a game like this. We were pushing everybody up to try to get a goal, so we didn't have to go to overtime."
"We actually changed things up on our corners because we weren't having much success," Cohen said. "We felt Kat (Roncoroni) was striking the ball so well all afternoon, that I wanted to get the insert to her. She took a great shot."
"it was also great to see Syd (Ostroski) get her first college goal in such a big game."
West Chester returns to Vonnie Gros Field on Monday, Oct. 28 against nationally ranked Adelphi for a 4 p.m. start.
