WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University volleyball didn't lose a set this week, sweeping Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference rivals Lock Haven University and Bloomsburg University in Hollinger Field House.
The Golden Rams (16-11 overall, 4-10 PSAC) defeated the Huskies (8-19) in three hard-fought 25-21, 25-22, 30-28 sets.
How it happened:
- West Chester's first lead in the set was 19-18, and a service ace by freshman Jillian Borgerding (Highlands Ranch, Colo. / Highlands Rach) made it 20-18. The score was 22-21 before the Golden Rams won it with the final three points.
- The Golden Rams battled back again in the second set. Down 10-6, a kill by sophomore Olivia Rudjord (Fogelsville, Pa. / Allentown Central Catholic) fueled a five-point rally, and West Chester never fell behind again.
- The third set was wild as West Chester jumped out to a 14-6 lead. The Huskies climbed back in it and went up 17-16. The two teams went back and forth several times before senior Rachel Robb (Blackwood, N.J. / Paul VI) recorded the match-clinching kill.
