Nodarse Ties School Record on Beam; WCU Tops Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – So., Yoli Nodarse (Pompton Plains, N.J.) tied the school record on the balance beam to lead West Chester to a 191.725-182.8 victory over host Ursinus in a women's gymnastics dual meet Sunday afternoon.
 
West Chester (9-2) had a gymnast win all four events, but it was Nodarse's 9.875 on the beam that stood out, tying the school record.
 
The Golden Rams scored a 48.625 on the beam and captured the top five spots in the process. West Chester also claimed the top four spots on both the uneven bars and the floor exercise en route to the victory.
 
Sarah Boyd (St. Petersburg, Fla.) was seond, behind Nodarse, on the beam with a score of 9.825 while Jordan Miranda (Winchester, Mass.) was third with a 9.7. Cassie Hageman (Carlisle, Pa.) was fourth (9.675), and Rose Fanara (Fredericksburg, Va.) placed fifth (9.55).
 
On the bars, Myranda Marshall (Lancaster, Pa.) took top honors with a 9.7. She was followed close behind by teammate Ashley Duke (Fredericskburg, Va.) (9.675) and Miranda (9.625). Natalie Onderko (Hillsborough, N.J.) placed fourth with a 9.55.
 
Freshman McKenna Kissinger (Chambersburg, Pa.) and senior Jessica Meakim (Downingtown, Pa.) tied for first place on the bars with a 9.7 each. Fanara placed third with a 9.675, and Boyd was fourth with a 9.6.
 
Fellow freshman Brashlyn Johnson (Aynor, S.C.) won the vault with a score of 9.625 while Meakim was second with a 9.6.
 
West Chester will return to action next Friday when the Golden Rams head to the Philadelphia Convention Center for its annual Pink Meet to help raise money for Unite for HER. The Golden Rams will be joined by Southern Connecticut State University at 6 p.m.
