TOWSON, Md. – West Chester University's gymnastics team posted an overall team high score of 192.55 while registering season-bests in both the uneven bars and the vault in a dual meet at Towson University Sunday afternoon.

Towson edged West Chester, 193.525-192.55. However, the Golden Rams' gymnasts certainly turned in their best performance of the year, led by
Jessica Meakim (Downingtown, Pa.), who tied for first on the floor exercise. Freshman
Ashley Duke (Fredericksburg, Va.) placed fourth in a pair of events as well.

Meakim scored a 9.8 on the floor to equal a pair of Towson gymnasts in that event.
Rose Fanara (Fredericksburg, Va.) was fourth with a 9.75.

Duke placed fourth on the vault with a score of 9.675 while also tying for fourth on the bars with a 9.65. Duke was just behind
Melanie Wojowoda (Amelia, Ohio), who finished third on the bars with a 9.675.

Wojowoda and Duke led the Golden Rams to a season-high 48.125 on the bars. Duke and Meakim were in on West Chester's season-best 48.1 on the vault as well.

The Golden Rams scored a 47.9 on the balance beam.
Cassie Hageman (Carlisle, Pa.) tied for third with a 9.65.
Sarah Boyd (St. Petersburg, Fla.) was fifth with a 9.625.

West Chester returns to the gym next Saturday when it hits the road for Upstate New York and a dual meet with SUNY-Cortland.
