LAKELAND, Fla. – The West Chester University women's tennis team capped off their spring break trip by defeating Warner University 4-3 in Lakeland, Florida on Thursday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- West Chester (3-3) swept doubles on Thursday to take the 1-0 lead, following victories by Alyssa Skulsky (CHURCHVILLE, PA COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH)/Rylee Power (NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA/ MARPLE NEWTOWN), Danisa Erriad (JAKARTA, INDONESIA/ES INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL)/Leandra Roelker (ALLENTOWN, PA./SALISBURY) and Shannon Nixon (WYNCOTE, PA./CHELTENHAM)/Julia Mowrey (BETHLEHEM, PA./NOTRE DAME).
- Warner (8-8) grabbed both of the top-two singles matches, but the Golden Rams responded by winning points in three of the final four positions to secure the slim 4-3 win on Thursday.
- Erriad claimed No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-2, Rochford took fifth position 6-2, 6-0 and Nixon claimed sixth flight 6-1, 6-1 against the Royals.
UP NEXT
The Golden Rams will have their first home match of the spring season on Wednesday, March 20, as the squad welcomes Godley-Beacom to the South Campus Courts for a contest scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.
