WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University women's tennis team cruised past Harford Community College by a final of 6-1 in a non-league match on Wednesday afternoon.
West Chester swept doubles easily as the duo of
Rylee Power (Newtown Square, Pa./Marple Newtown and Alyssa Skulsky (Churchville, Pa./Council Rock South) took first doubles 6-4 while
Leandra Roekler(Allentown, Pa./Salisbury) and Danisa
Erriad
(Jakarta, Indoneisa/ES International School) picked up second doubles 6-4 as well while
Shannon Nixon (Wyncote, Pa./Cheltenham) and
Julia Mowrey (Bethlehem, Pa./Notre Dame) won third doubles 6-0.
Power also won first singles by a score of 6-4, 7-6 while Erriad won third singles 6-0, 6-0 with Roekler winning fourth singles 6-1, 6-0. Rochford picked up fifth singles 6-1, 6-1, and Nixon won sixth singles 6-1, 6-2 while Skulsky dropped her second singles match as West Chester cruised to the victory over Harford.
West Chester will be back in action on Saturday afternoon at home against Kutztown beginning at 1:30 p.m.
