Box Score WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Slippery Rock won four of the last five singles matches to come from behind and defeat homestanding West Chester, 4-3, in a PSAC crossover women's tennis match Saturday afternoon.
West Chester took two of three doubles matches to earn the first point of the day followed by a win at No. 1 singles before The Rock rallied back by winning four of the final five singles bouts to earn the comeback victory.
The Golden Rams trailed The Rock duo at third doubles, 5-2, when West Chester's tandem, consisting of
Julia Mowrey (Bethlehem, Pa./Notre Dame) and
Shannon Nixon (Wyncote, Pa./Cheltenham) battled back to take the 7-5 decision and win the doubles point.
Elaina Rochford (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) and
Rylee Power (Newtown Square, Pa./Marple-Newtown) won at fifth and first singles, respectively. However, the Rock rallied to win the other singles matches and take the win.
West Chester welcomes Indiana (Pa.) to South Campus on Sunday at 11 a.m.
