WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Sr.,
Rylee Power (Newtown Square, Pa./Marple-Newtown) outlasted her opponent at first singles in a three-set thriller to hand host West Chester a 4-3 victory over visiting Indiana (Pa.) on South Campus Sunday afternoon.
For West Chester (10-5) it marked the team's first win over IUP (7-10) since current head coach
Tina Tharp assumed the reins of the program – spanning seven contests over the past decade.
Power was a 6-7 (6), 7-6 (3), and 6-1 winner over Katya Minchenkova to seal the victory. West Chester benefitted from two retirements due to injury on the IUP side at fourth and sixth singles.

Alyssa Skulsky (Churchville, Pa./Council Rock South) were winners at first doubles. However, IUP took second and third doubles to claim the one doubles point.

Elaina Rochford (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) was a 6-7, (1), 6-2, 6-0 winner at fifth singles in another three-setter. She climbed back for the win following a loss in the first set.
West Chester takes on Millersville on Wednesday.
