FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The West Chester University women's tennis team capped off their West Virginia road trip with a pivotal 4-2 regional victory over Fairmont State at the FSU Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon.
The Golden Rams, winners of their last five consecutive matches, move to 8-4 overall following Sunday's win and the W pushes WCU's record on the road to 4-2 throughout the 2018-19 season. On the flip side, Fairmont State moved to 7-9 on the year following Sunday's defeat ahead of its match at home against Salem tomorrow afternoon.
FSU grabbed the first doubles victory of the afternoon on Sunday, before the Golden Rams battled back with wins by

Leandra Roelker (ALLENTOWN, PA./SALISBURY) and
Rylee Power (NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA/MARPLE NEWTOWN)/
Alyssa Skulsky (CHURCHVILLE, PA/COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH) gave WCU the crucial doubles point to start the day.
The Falcons grabbed the first two singles points to go up 2-1, before Erriad, Rochford, and Roelker all grabbed wins at their respective positions to take the 4-2 advantage with one singles contest remaining. At sixth position,
Shannon Nixon (WYNCOTE, PA./CHELTENHAM) was leading Hayley Hatfield 6-4, 3-1 before that match was eventually called due to rain – securing to 4-2 win for the Golden Rams on the road.
