ERIE, Pa. – Senior QB
Paul Dooley (Philadelphia, Pa./Springside-Chestnut Hill) ran for a pair of scores and threw for another, and
Sterlen Barr (Hatboro, Pa./Upper Moreland) returned an interception 61 yards for a score, as visting West Chester topped host Gannon, 48-14, Saturday afternoon.

West Chester (2-0) ran out to a 21-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and never looked back against Gannon (1-1). Barr's 61-yard pick-six got things started on the Golden Knights' second possession of the game. The Golden Rams rattled off two more scores, before Gannon finally answered with its first touchdown of the game.

However, the visitors strung together three more scores and were well in control, 41-7, by the start of the fourth quarter.

Dooley finished the day 17-for-25 for 248 yards and an 18-yard TD pass to
Cody Boozel (Cranberry Twp./Seneca Valley). He added a 2-yard run and a 20-yard scamper, each for a score, to conclude the game with three touchdowns responsible for.
Ja'Den McKenzie (Morton, Pa./Springfield-DELCO) led the team in rushing with 87 yards on 13 carries and two TD runs. He was not stopped for a loss for the second straight week, making it 23 consecutive carries without being dropped in the backfield. Dooley rushed for 59 yards on 11 carries and the two scores.

Defensively, five different Golden Rams intercepted Gannon QB Jimmy Keefe, recording their first career picks in the process.
James Bell (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep),
Izaiah McPherson (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus),
Cole Zapf (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) and
Jackson Taylor (Glenside, Pa./Abington) each registered interceptions on the day. Barr added three tackles and three passes defensed to his stellar performance Saturday. Zapf led the team in tackles with six.

West Chester returns home next Saturday to take on PSAC West rival Seton Hill at Farrell Stadium at 12 p.m.
