WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University volleyball is off to a 3-0 start in 2019 after beating Goldey-Beacom in four sets on Saturday morning.
 
WCU dropped the first set but bounced back to win the next three 25-13, 25-23, 25-19 over the Lightning.
 
Sophomore 
Julia Vreeswyk (Yardley, Pa. / Pennsbury) led West Chester in kills for the third straight match with 13 against GBC. Sophomores 
Sarah Polacek (Johnstown, Pa. / Westmont Hilltop) and 
Olivia Rudjord (Fogelsville, Pa. / Allentown Central Catholic) recorded nine kills apiece.
 
Shaye Whiteman (Gettysburg, Pa. / Gettysburg), West Chester's libero, had 21 digs and three assists in the win. Freshman 
Jillian Borgerding (Highlands Ranch, Colo. / Highlands Rach) posted 35 assists and eight digs.
 
The Golden Rams are hitting .194 as a team in the early going this season, while their opponents have a .008 hitting percentage.
