MEET RESULTS
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - West Chester University's women's gymnastics squad swept all four events and the all-around en route to a walk away victory in a tri-meet with host Ursinus College and Ithaca College Sunday afternoon.
West Chester posted a team score of 192.5 to win the meet. Ursinus was second with a 183.45 and Ithaca was third with a 179.925. The Golden Rams swept the top three spots on the vault, uneven bars and balance beam while taking three of the top four spots on the floor exercise.
Junior
Jessica Meakim (Downingtown, Pa.) won the floor exercise with a 9.825 while finishing second on the vault (9.625) and third on the uneven bars (9.65) en route to winning the all-around with a composite score of 38.775.
Senior
Sarah Boyd (St. Petersburg, Fla.) won the balance beam with a 9.825, and
Yoli Nodarse (Pompton Plains, N.J.) was second with a 9.75.
Jordan Miranda (Winchester, Mass.) was third with a 9.725.
Melanie Wojewoda (Cincinnati, Ohio) tied for fourth with a 9.7. Wojewoda won the uneven bars with a 9.725 while freshman
Samantha Kelly (Mullica Hill, N.J.) was second with a 9.675 and Meakim was third.
Freshman
Kiah Johnson (Philadelphia, Pa.) won the vault with a score of 9.775. Meakim was second while
McKenna Kissinger (Chambersburg, Pa.) and
Brashlyn Johnson (Aynor, S.C.) tied for third with a 9.525.
West Chester's faithful will get their first look at the 2020 Golden Rams' gymnasts on Saturday, Feb. 1 when West Chester hosts a tri match with Springfield College and Rhode Island College inside Sturzebecker Health Science Center at 1 p.m. It is the first of two straight home meets for the Golden Rams.
