WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University men's basketball cruised to an 85-69 victory over Millersville University on Wednesday night at Hollinger Field House, ultimately locking up third place in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division.
Third place guarantees the Golden Rams a PSAC Tournament game at Hollinger Field House set for Monday at a time to be determined against an opponent to be determined.
Freshman guard
Robbie Heath (Whittlesea, Australia / Abington) had a game-high 26 points on Wednesday, moving into second for most points ever scored by a West Chester player in a single season with 620. The record is 640 set by Ramzee Stanton during the 2002-03 season. Heath also grabbed 13 rebounds against the Marauders (10-11, 13-14) to notch his third double-double of the season. He leads the conference at 23.8 points per game and leads the team at 7.4 rebounds on average.
The Golden Rams made a statement in the first half, leading by as many as 21 when sophomore forward
Josh Samec (Trecksow, Pa. / Hazleton Area) drilled a three-pointer to put his team up 41-20 with 1:00 left. Samec finished the game with 15 points on 6-of-10 field goals and 3-of-6 makes from beyond the arc.
Down 52-28 just 4:25 into the second half, Millersville went on a 28-6 run over the next 6:21 to bring the game within three. However, West Chester kicked it back into gear, and senior guard
