BABSON PARK, Fla. - West Chester University women's tennis began its spring season on Saturday with a 4-3 win at Webber International University.

The Golden Rams picked up the first point of the match by winning all three doubles battles. The young duo of sophomore
Alyssa Skulsky (Churchville, Pa. / Council Rock South) and freshman
Davica Massaro (Medford, N.J. / Shawnee) won a close one, 7-6 (2), in the first spot.

The pairs of juniors
Julia Mowrey (Bethlehem, Pa. / Notre Dame) and
Shannon Nixon (Wyncote, Pa. / Cheltenham) as well as
junior Leandra Roelker (Allentown, Pa. / Salisbury) and
Elaina Lee (Pottstown, Pa. / Owen J. Roberts) dominated in the second and third positions, respectively, with 6-2 and 6-1 victories.

Junior
Elaina Rochford (West Chester, Pa. / Henderson) saved the match along with Lee and Mowrey by winning in fourth, fifth and sixth singles. Rochford won 6-3, 6-2, Lee won 6-1, 6-0 and Mowrey won 6-0, 6-0 as West Chester took home the win.

The Golden Rams are back at it on Sunday at 11 a.m. at Eckerd College for their second match of the spring. West Chester was 4-0 in dual matches in the fall.
