Box Score ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - West Chester University women's tennis was undefeated with a 5-0 record in dual matches throughout the 2019-20 season until losing a close 4-3 battle at Eckerd College on Sunday.
WCU freshman
Elaina Lee (Pottstown, Pa. / Owen J. Roberts) and junior
Leandra Roelker (Allentown, Pa. / Salisbury) won convincingly, 6-0, in the third doubles spot. But the Golden Rams lost the doubles point with 6-4 losses in the first and second positions.
Lee also had a strong singles outing, winning 6-3, 6-1, in the fourth slot.
Another West Chester freshman in
Davica Massaro (Medford, N.J. / Shawnee) picked up a 6-2, 6-2, victory in second singles, and junior
Julia Mowrey (Bethlehem, Pa. / Notre Dame) won, 7-5, 6-3, at No. 6.
The Golden Rams will continue their spring season at the University of Tampa on Tuesday at noon.
