Opening Up
After returning to the PSAC Tournament following a one-year hiatus last Spring, the West Chester University women's tennis team will begin its 2026-27 campaign Tuesday afternoon against Division III Albright in the first of three matches on South Campus next week. Last season, West Chester finished the season 9-10 overall and 3-2 in league action, closing out the season with a 7-0 win over Kutztown before falling to Slipper Rock in the PSAC Tournament by a 4-0 final to bring the season to a close at 9-10 overall.

West Chester will be an experienced group in 2026-27 with a veteran lineup, which includes seniors
Ashleigh Grooms,
Rachel Haupt,
Sohana Thompson, and
Delaney Tingle, junior
Alexandra Cave, and sophomores
Brigitte Gravelle and
Mariam Jamburia. The Golden Rams also welcome freshmen
Barbara Grimaldi and
Gracie Clark.
Delaney Tingle,
Brigitte Gravelle, and Alex Cave were all All-Conference selections for West Chester last spring, as Tingle was named All-Conference in both singles and doubles alongside Gravelle, while Cave was a Second Team All-Singles selection. Tingle went 8-9 at first singles and 4-1 in league play, while also going 7-4 at doubles with Gravelle, while Cave was 5-0 in league singles matches and 8-6 overall in the fourth singles spot.
The Slate
West Chester will face Albright and St. Thomas Aquinas (STAC) this week before hosting Bryn Mawr next Tuesday evening at 4 p.m for its final match of the fall slate. West Chester will return to the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships at Bloomsburg beginning on October 15 to finish off the fall season.
