WEST CHESTER, Pa.- After starting its 2026-27 season with a 6-1 win over Albright on Tuesday afternoon in West Chester, the West Chester University women's tennis team (1-0) is set to return to action on Thursday afternoon at home against St. Thomas Aquinas (STAC) (1-5), beginning at 2 p.m.

Five Things to Know
- West Chester enters play on Thursday following a dominant 6-1 win over Albright to open the 2026-27 season on Tuesday. West Chester dropped two games or fewer in four of five singles victories as the Golden Rams won all but the third singles match, and captured the doubles point with a pair of 6-1 victories to start the new season in the win column.
- STAC entered the win column for the first time in 2026-27 last Thursday with a 5-2 victory over Post, which halted a five-match losing streak to open the season. The Spartans won at first and second doubles by 6-3 and 6-2 finals and four of the six singles matches, including a 6-0, 6-1 win at third singles to pick up their first win of the new year. Thursday's match will finish off a road trip to Pennsylvania for the Spartans as they will visit Jefferson on Wednesday afternoon beginning at 3 p.m. before continuing on to West Chester on Thursday.
- West Chester finished its fall season with a 4-3 win over STAC last October for the Golden Rams' first win over the Spartans since October 2017, when West Chester picked up its fourth win in a row. West Chester will face STAC during the fall season for the sixth year in a row after restarting the series in October 2021.
- Thursday looks to be an excellent day for tennis in the Delaware Valley, with a forecasted high of 78 under mostly sunny skies.
- West Chester will return to action at home next Tuesday against Bryn Mawr, beginning at 4 p.m., before concluding its fall slate at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships at Bloomsburg, beginning on October 15.
