Four Conference Qualifying Marks Highlight Indoor Track Season Opener at Lehigh

FAST TIMES BEFORE FINALS RESULTS

BETHLEHEM, PA – Chad Mowbray (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) won the 400-meters and Ori Frazier (Roslyn, Pa./Abington) was runner-up in two events as four Golden Rams hit conference qualifying marks at the Fast Times Before Finals eight-team meet inside Rauch Fieldhouse on the campus of Lehigh University Saturday.

The sprints were especially pleasing Saturday with three of the four PSAC qualifying times coming out of those events. West Chester runners claimed four of the top six positions in the 400m and three of the top four in the 200m while three sprinters were among the top seven in the 60m dash.

Mowbray clocked a time of 51.32 seconds in the 400m that led four Golden Rams to the finish line. Frazier was right behind him in second with a time of 51.45. Both of those times qualified the duo for the PSAC Championships in February. Xavier Fanny (Avondale, Pa./Oxford) was fourth (52.46) and Jack Wasserman (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) sixth in 53.07.

Frazier also finished second in the 200m in a time of 23.36 seconds. Amarre Mayo (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) was third (23.44) while Fanny was fourth (23.56). Mayo also placed fifth in the 60m dash, behind teammate Nick Page (Laurel, Md./Our Lady of Good Council), who finished fourth in a PSAC-qualifying time of 7.08. Mayo ran a 7.13 in the prelims and came back with a 7.20 time in the finals. Will Rivers (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central), who ran a 7.24 in the prelims to reach the finals, posted a time of 7.29 to finish seventh in the 60m.

In the field, Zahir Madyun (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) led the way with the fourth and final PSAC qualifying effort on the day. He placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 21 feet, 11 ¾ inches. Page placed eighth with a distance of 21-2 ¼.

Andrew Bosche (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) was fourth in the pole vault, clearing 13 feet, 5 ¼ inches. In the triple jump, Zyon Terry (Birdsboro, Pa./Twin Valley) was seventh with a leap of 41-8 ½.

West Chester will be back in action next weekend at the Seahawk Shootout inside the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island.
