Golden Rams Compete in Paul Kaiser Classic

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - West Chester University women's track and field team competed in the 2021 Paul Kaiser Track & Field Classic on Saturday afternoon. The schools who competed in the Classic were: Shippensburg, Indiana (Pa.), Bloomsburg, Kutztown, Mansfield, Lock Haven, Millersville, East Stroudsburg, Pitts-Johnstown, Seton Hill, California (Pa.), Marywood, and Goldey-Beacom. 
 
West Chester sophomore, Sarah Supplee (Orefield, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) finished first in the 3000m steeple with a 11:35.41 time.
 
Senior Madison James (York, Pa./York Suburban) found herself placing in the top five of two events. James finished fourth in the long jump (5.43m) and fifth in the 100m hurdles (15.17 seconds).
 
The Golden Rams had two top ten finishers in the 5000m. Junior Bridget Palm (York, Pa./Central York) took third place (19:17.01 seconds) and freshman Allison Myers (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown) took sixth place (19:25.20) for the Purple & Gold.
 
Sophomore Zhayria Washington (West Chester, Pa./West Chester Rustin) finished seventh in the hammer throw with a 40.60m mark.
 
Freshman Emma Urbine (Quarryville, Pa./Solanco) placed ninth in the javelin throw with her 31.01m mark.
 
The Golden Rams are competing at the WCU Last Chance Meet on Saturday, May 1 at John A. Farrell Stadium. Events are scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
