Women's Tennis Opens Postseason Hosting PSAC Semifinal

WEST CHESTER, PA - Fresh off its fifth Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division crown in the last six years, West Chester University's women's tennis squad hosts Millersville University Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at South Campus Courts. The Golden Rams are the No. 1 seed out of the East by virtue of its regular-season title while Millersville is the second seed.

IF YOU ATTEND: The PSAC Board of Directors has encouraged each member institution to accommodate visiting team spectators for PSAC Tournament events. Therefore, no restrictions will be set on the number of spectators for either institution. Those in attendance should still remain physically distanced and masked while on the campus of West Chester University. The University has a mask mandated policy that is still in effect for all postseason events. Parking is available in 'S' Lot, which is located right across the street from the tennis courts on South New Street. Designated areas for spectators will be clearly marked.

HOW TO WATCH: West Chester University's Sports Information Department will video stream the match. Viewers can click the VIDEO link to access the web stream. No commentary will be available.

HOW THEY GOT HERE: West Chester (7-3, 5-0 PSAC East) won the regular-season title in the PSAC East. They received the No. 1 seed and a bye in the first round of the playoffs. Millersville (7-4, 4-1) finished second in the PSAC Eastern Division regular-season standings and earned the No. 2 seed. The Marauders defeated third-seeded Bloomsburg, 4-3, in the first round last Saturday.

SERIES HISTORY: West Chester prevailed, 5-2, on April 17 at home on South Campus to run its winning streak over Millersville to seven straight, dating back to 2013. The Golden Rams show a 12-2 mark against the Marauders since 2008. The all-time series is tied at 21-21.

PSAC TOURNAMENT HISTORY: West Chester is making its seventh straight appearance in the conference semifinals and eighth overall. The last time West Chester did not reach the semifinals (2013), it fell to Millersville, 5-4, in the quarterfinals. West Chester is 3-9 all-time in the PSAC Tournament since 2010, but have not won a semifinal match since its latest playoff string of appearances that began in 2010 (0-7). The Golden Rams' lone conference championship came back in 1982.
