WEST CHESTER, PA – West Chester's women's volleyball squad bounced back from last weekend's setback against Georgian Court in style with a convincing 3-0 sweep over visiting Felician inside Hollinger Field House Tuesday evening.
West Chester (4-3) downed Felician in straight sets, 25-17, 25-13, 25-10.
Sarah Polacek (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont Hilltop) led all players with 18 kills while
Paige Monastero (Norristown, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) posted 10 kills and 11 digs. The Golden Rams, who struggled hitting over the weekend, hit .356 for the match as evidence of a pair of outside hitters in double figures.
Grace Whitney (Glenside, Pa./Abington) finished the match with nine.
Setter
Jamie Byrne (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) registered 38 assists and added six digs and a pair of service aces.
Sydney Heffner (Bath, Pa./Northampton) took over Libero duties and posted a team-best 22 digs.
Felician hit .081 in the three sets. West Chester posted 58 digs as a team and eight blocks, led by
Olivia Rudjord (Fogelsville, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) three blocks.
West Chester takes on both Bowie State and Goldey-Beacom in Wilmington, Del., on Saturday. They take on the Bulldogs at 2 p.m. and Goldey-Beacom at 4 p.m.
