No. 2 West Chester Rolls Past Lock Haven

LOCK HAVEN, Pa.,- Jacqueline Hug (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) scored twice while Kaitlynn Haughey (Philadelphia, Pa./Penn Charter) netted the game-winner as No. 2 West Chester (13-0, 12-0) remained perfect on the year with a 4-0 victory over Lock Haven (3-8-3, 1-8-3) on the road on Saturday night.

Kaitlynn Haughey (Philadelphia, Pa./Penn Charter) opened the scoring early taking a cross from Alyson Cutter (Warrington, Pa./C.B. South), which led her past the Lock Haven keeper and gave the Golden Rams an early 1-0 lead in the second minute.
  Hug doubled the lead in the 35th minute, scoring her first of two goals on the afternoon, finishing off a well-placed through ball from Faith Matter (Middletown, Pa./Middletown) to give West Chester a 2-0 lead.
  The lead grew one more before the halftime break when West Chester benefited from an own goal by Lock Haven, moving the lead to 3-0 in favor of the Golden Rams heading into the half.

Out of the halftime break, West Chester continued to apply steady pressure, which eventually led to a fourth goal in the 55th minute, when Hug finished off a rebound following a shot from outside the box by Olivia Gentile (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) her first point as a Golden Ram, via an assist, putting WCU out in front 4-0.

 
Despite the convincing victory, Lock Haven put up a good fight throughout the match, registering 13 shots and 10 shots on goal, ending the match trailing West Chester in overall shots at 16-13 while outshooting the Golden Rams in shots on goal by a final of 10-5. West Chester did manage to end the contest with a 5-1 lead in corners en route to the convincing road victory.
In goal, Hayley McGee (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) played well, making 10 saves, including her final save of the game in the final seconds of regulation to preserve the shutout while her counterpart made two saves of her own in an attempt to slow the WCU offense.
