WEST CHESTER, PA – The W. Glenn Killinger Football Foundation Hall of Fame announced five former Golden Rams will be inducted as part of its 2022 hall of fame class. Bob Fithian ('62), Paul Nanni ('86), Jim Lindsay ('97), Jack Orwig ('05) and Ronell Williams ('14) will be enshrined on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022.
Three of the five members will be on hand at West Chester's final home game of the season Saturday against Lock Haven University at 12 p.m. They will be recognized at halftime in a brief ceremony. The hall of fame banquet will take place later that evening at the WCU Alumni & Foundation Center with cocktails at 6 p.m.
Bob Fithian was a three-year starter and played both center and linebacker for the Golden Rams. He was named All-PSAC at center in 1961. H helped the Golden Rams win the PSAC title three times during his career as a starter. He was also a multi-sport athlete and earned eight varsity letters.
Fithian followed up his time at West Chester University with an extensive career as a teacher, coach and athletic director. He spent 19 years of his career at Sun Valley High School as the head football coach and athletic director. He is also a member of the Sun Valley Hall of Fame.
Fithian is retired and resides in Ocean City, NJ with his wife Karen. They have three adult children Kellie, Rob, and Kris.
Paul Nanni was a three-year starter at linebacker for the Golden Rams and earned All-PSAC and All-ECAC honors. He ranks among the top 15 in 10 defensive categories. He returned an interception against Shippensburg 96 yards for a touchdown in 1983. Nanni is now employed as a Regional Sales Manager at PuroClean. He lives in Thorndale, Pa., and has three children, Ian, Gillian, and Bryn.
Jim Lindsay was a three-year letterwinner at running back for the Golden Rams. He was selected to the 1994 All-PSAC East first team and the 1995 All-PSAC East second team. Lindsay's 40 rushing attempts in a game is still tied for third most in a single game at WCU while putting him in the top 10 in PSAC history. His 2,326 career rushing yards and his 1,130 single season yards ranks him 14th and 17th, respectively, all-time at WCU.
Lindsay currently resides in Exton, Pa., with his wife Melissa and their two children, Zach and Zoey. He is currently a Re-entry Parole Officer Specialist at the Chester County Adult Probation and Parole Department.
Jack Orwig was a four-year letterwinner at offensive tackle for the Golden Rams. He was named 2004 First Team All-PSAC East, All-ECAC Division II, Daktronics Second Team All-Northeast Region and the CollegeSportsReport.com All-Division II fourth team. A career highlight for Orwig was being awarded the game ball by his coaches for his performance in a 2004 playoff win against CW Post. The playoff marked the first NCAA II Tournament playoff win in WCU football history.
Orwig currently resides in Upper Arlington, Ohio with his wife Alli and their two children, Charlotte and Benjamin. He is a Regional Manager at Lord Abbett & Co.
Ronell Williams was a four-year starter at linebacker for the Golden Rams and was named to multiple All-America teams. He was selected to the 2012 AFCA and AP first teams, D2Football.com 2012 and 2013 Honorable Mention,
Don Hansen FB Gazette 2012 second team and 2013 first team. He also earned All-PSAC honors in 2012, 2013 and 2014. Williams' career tackles rank him third all-time in WCU history. He led his team in tackles for three consecutive years from 2012 thru 2014.
Williams currently resides in Lake Forest, Ill., and is the Defensive Quality Control coach for the Chicago Bears in the NFL.
