MANSFIELD, Pa. – The West Chester women's cross country team returned to action Saturday morning on the Lamb's Creek Course in Mansfield, Pa. for the 2022 PSAC Championships; West Chester placed 11
th in the field behind a seventh-place effort out of
Bella Marchini (Schwenksville, Pa./Spring-Ford), which was also good enough for her to earn First Team All-Conference honors.
Edinboro captured the team title thanks in large part to a first-place effort from Kyle Ancic, who crossed the line in 21:09.30, which was almost a minute faster than her second-place teammate.
Bella Marchini (Schwenksville, Pa./Spring Ford) led the way for West Chester in the 6K, crossing the finish line in 22 minutes and 35.2 seconds to place 7th out of 158 runners.
Trailing behind Marchini was
Hallie Weaver (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) who registered a time 24 minutes and 25.1 seconds to finish 42nd individually.
Josey George (Oxford, GA/Walnut Grove) marked a time of 25:25.7 for 78th place and
Abigail Marion (South Abington, Pa./Abington Heights) ran 25:35.7 for an 84th-place finish.
Also competing for West Chesteron Saturday afternoon was
Erin Witter (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) logging a time of 25:55.5;
Alexandra Amin (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing Area) finishing in 25:58.2;
Jenny Weiss (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) clocking a time of 25:58.7; and
Allison Myers (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown) finishing in 26 minutes;
Joli Golembiewski (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) finishing in 26:31.5;
Campbell Heitz (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) finishing 27:58.7; and
Joey Gaffin (Morrisville, Pa./Pennsbury) and finishing in a time of 28:27.4.
