CLEVELAND, Oh.- After completion of the Fall 2022 season, West Chester University stands in 26th place in the Division II Learfield Directors Cup Fall standings, released on Friday morning. West Chester ended a strong fall season with 145 points, thanks in large part to a 90-point contribution from West Chester women's soccer, who finished the year as the National Runner-Up, along with 55 points from National Semifinalist West Chester field hockey. West Chester is also the top PSAC program on the list, with Gannon sitting 11 spots behind in 37
th with 123 points in the fall season.
The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and
USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
For the second Division II Fall Festival in a row, West Chester saw both its field hockey and one of its soccer programs appear in the National Semifinal round of the Tournament with West Chester women's soccer, this time advancing to the National Championship match after West Chester men's soccer did so in 2018.
A year ago, West Chester finished 34
th in the Division II Learfield standings as the top PSAC team in the standings, amassing a total of 419.5 points with 192 coming in the fall, 73.5 in the winter, and 154 more in the spring season.
In addition to its 26
th-place standing in the Learfield Directors Cup, West Chester is also currently ranked third in the PSAC Fall Dixon Cup rankings with a Department average of 11.31, thanks in large part to the PSAC Championship by West Chester women's soccer in November.
The winter Learfield Cup standings are set to be published beginning on March 31
st, with the final standing release coming on June 16
th, following the conclusion of the Spring season.

th women's soccer match in school history in the National Semifinals vs Ferris State on December 1

263: Brynn Dreisbach (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) finished the year second on the team in kills and third in digs with 172 as the freshman earned PSAC East First Team All-Conference honors, marking the second year in a row in which a Golden Ram rookie has captured First Team All-League honors.
100: West Chester men's soccer head coach Michael Benn earned his 100
th victory at the helm of WCU this fall with a 2-0 win over Lock Haven on Rockwell Field in September.
53: Valerie Van Kuijck (Denbosch, The Netherlands/Pierson School) finished the year with 53 ponts thanks to 19 goals and 15 assists, which led to her earning both National Field Hockey Coaches Atlantic Region Player of the Year honors and NFHCA DII National Player of the Year honors.
46: West Chester men's and women's tennis head coach
Tina Tharp became one of just 46 individuals and one of only six women to receive the International Master Professional award handed out by the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) at its Banquet in November.
30: West Chester had 30 student-athletes earn PSAC All-Conference honors, including 17 with First Team honors and 8 Major Award winners.

25: West Chester earned 25 Conference or National Athlete of the Week honors throughout the 2022 Fall season.
23: Women's soccer tied the program record for most wins in a single season with 23, while
Hayley McGee (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) set a new single-season win record in goal for West Chester, helping lead West Chester to the Division II women's soccer National Championship.
19: Women's Soccer tied the Division II National Record for longest appearance streak in DII women's soccer history, matching Franklin Pierce's 19-year run of making the Tournament, which stretched from 1992-2010.
17: Daniel Good (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) tied the career shutout record, registering his 17
th career shutout as one of his four clean sheets this fall.
15: Bella Marchini (Schwenksville, Pa./Spring Ford) finished 15
th at the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships, which led to her earning USTFCCCA All-Region honors after picking up First Team All-Conference honors at the PSAC Championships earlier in November.
13: West Chester received 13 All-America citations this fall, with women's soccer leading the way with eight across both the Division II Conference Commissioners Association, United Soccer Coaches, and Collegiate Sports Communicators
, followed by field hockey with four, and football with two.
11: 11 Golden Rams earned Collegiate Sports Communicators Academic All-District Two honors while
8 Golden Rams also earned PhillySIDA Academic All-Area recognition, including women's soccer Performer of the Year, McGee.
7: Seven West Chester fall teams (women's soccer, men's soccer, field hockey, women's volleyball, men's cross country, women's cross country, men's golf) participated in their respective PSAC Conference Championships this fall, led by West Chester women's soccer who captured the PSAC East Regular Season title and eventually won its first PSAC Tournament title since the 2012 season, playing in its first Championship since 2017.
