Kiah and Jess Meakim at nationals

Meakim and Kiah Johnson Each Earn Top 5 Finishes at USA Gymnastics Nationals

ITHACA, NY - Graduate student Jessica Meakim (Downingtown, Pa.) placed third on the floor exercise while junior Kiah Johnson (Philadelphia, Pa.) placed fifth on the vault as the 2022 USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships wrapped up with the individual finals in the four events Sunday afternoon inside Newman Arena in Bartels Hall.

Meakim scored a 9.9 on the floor while Johnson posted a 9.787 on the vault. The local product also placed fourth in the all-around, earning her first-team All-America citation on the weekend. Meakim's score was the highest by a senior at the championships, earning her the Outstanding Senior Gymnast Award. She also walked away with the Mari-Rae Sopper Award for the gymnast who showed unparalleled passion, dedication and devotion to the sport of gymnastics as well as tremendous and inspiring perseverence.

Stephanie Plaugher was named Co-Assistant Coach of the Year, along with Kristin Harold from Texas Woman's University.
