West Chester Runs Past Bloomsburg, 19-3

BLOOMSBURG, PA – Hannah Stanislawczyk (Mohnton, Pa./Gov. Mifflin) scored four goals, and Keri Barnett (Glenolden, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) and Helen Kreschollek (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley) each added three apiece as No. 5 West Chester defeated host Bloomsburg, 19-3, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division showdown Saturday afternoon at Steph Pettit Stadium.
 
West Chester (13-1, 10-1 PSAC East) can earn at least a share of the Eastern Division regular-season title with a win over Kutztown on Wednesday. Bloomsburg (10-6, 6-5) is in a battle for third place in the league standings with one more contest left.
 
The Golden Rams scored the first eight goals of the game in a 17-minute span to take a big lead. The Huskies then outscored West Chester 3-1 over the next six minutes to draw within 9-3. But, West Chester closed out the contest on a 10-0 run to put the game away.
 
Stanislawczyk powered the first run with three of her four markers, and nine different goal scorers put the game out of reach at the end.
 
Gillian Peters (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) caused five turnovers and grabbed four groundballs. Barnett added six draw controls to her three goals and one assist on the afternoon. Grace Frasso (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) and Stanislawczyk each secured five draw controls as well.
 
Jessica Gorr (Exton, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) started the game and played the first 39 minutes. She made six saves to improve to 9-0 on the year. Amber Weedon (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville) played 15 minutes and made one save while Ellie Hughes (Abington, Pa./Abington) played the final seven minutes, making three saves.
