West Chester Men's Soccer Seeks Part-Time Assistant Coach

Position Summary

West Chester University is an NCAA Division II member of the highly competitive Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). The Department of Athletics prepares our student athletes for life-long success by providing opportunities for them to excel in the classroom, in competition and in the community. This is a position within the Division of Student Affairs, awarded as one of the "Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs" by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education for the second year in a row.

WCU serves approximately 17,000 students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, 23% identify as Hispanic/Latino, Black, Asian, and Native American Indian nations, and 24% are eligible for Pell grants. With approximately 30% designated as the first in their family to complete a bachelor's degree, WCU is the first to earn "First Forward Designation," an initiative of NASPA and The Suder Foundation.

The successful candidate will be responsible in assisting the head men's soccer coach in fulfilling all responsibilities associated with successful coaching at the college level.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identification and recruitment of athletically and academically qualified student-athletes 
  • Scheduling and organization of practice sessions
  • Game day coaching
  • Assisting with the management of equipment, team travel, and budget
  • Alumni relations and fundraising
  • Running camps & clinics
  • Video breakdown
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills to be a positive role model and representative of the university.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Collegiate or professional soccer playing experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous collegiate, high school, or club-level soccer coaching experience
  • A background and experience in summer camp/clinic operations
  • Knowledge of and conformity to NCAA rules

The salary for this position is $6,875.00.
