BLOOMSBURG, PA – West Chester University's women's tennis squad opened up its 2022-23 campaign with its fall slate on Friday at the ITA Regionals at the Burt Reese Tennis Center on the campus of Bloomsburg University.
Tori Alexander (Norristown, Pa./Spring-Ford) and
Alyssa Skulsky (Churchville, Pa./Council Rock South) dropped their doubles match to the fourth-seeded duo from Indiana (Pa.), 7-5. The Golden Rams' pair battled the Crimson Hawks tandem well throughout, but could not pull off the upset. There are no consolation draws in the doubles competition this year at ITA's.
Alexander had to retire from her singles match with Zoe Heed of Slippery Rock due to an injury. Skulsky,
Elaina Lee (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) and
Gabriella dos Santos (Sao Paolo, Brazil) each dropped their singles matches. Lee pushed her opponent from Mercyhurst to the brink, before dropping a third-set tie-breaker, 10-8.
The women open their dual meet schedule on Wednesday with a match at Jefferson at 2 p.m.
