ANCHORAGE, AK.-West Chester (4-0) improved to 4-0 on the year with its second victory of the weekend over Alaska-Anchorage (0-2) on Sunday afternoon, winning by a 191.625-188.775 final score.
West Chester turned in one of its best beam performances in program history, registering a 48.950, which is tied for the second-best in school history and the highest score since the 2017 season when West Chester recorded a 49.050 at the ECAC Championships. West Chester swept all four events, winning the vault 47.625-47.000, the bars 47.400-46.825, the beam 48.950-48.250, and the floor exercise 47.650-46.650.
Kristina Rodriguez (Cincinnati, Oh.) competed in all four events for West Chester on Sunday afternoon, placing second in vault with a score of 9.6 before tying for fifth on the bars with a score of 9.575, which set a new season-high for her, before tying with Lacey for first on the beam with a career-high score of 9.850 while also competing in the floor exercise.
Sarah Eskew (Pittsburgh, Pa.) had a big day with a strong performance on the bars, registering a career-high score of 9.675, which led to a second-place finish in this event before winning the vault with another 9.675 as West Chester held a 94.925-93.825 lead through these first two events.
Eskew was far from the only Golden Ram to perform exceptionally well in each of these events, as she was one of four Golden Rams in the top five in the vault, joined by
Caitlyn Allen (Forest Hill, Md.) and
Kristina Rodriguez (Cincinnati, Oh.) in second with scores of 9.6 while
McKenna Kissinger (Chambersburg, Pa.) tied for fourth with a score of 9.55. Allen's 9.6 sets a new season-high for the sophomore, while Rodriguez matched her season-high from earlier in the weekend.
On the bars,
Jordan Coleman (Bowie, Md.) took third with a season-high score of 9.65, while
Hyla Betts (Shannock, R.I.) and Rodriguez tied for fifth with scores of 9.575, with what was also a new season-high score for Rodriguez
Anna Lacey (Bethlehem, Pa.) and Rodriguez, the lone all-around competitor for either team on Sunday afternoon, tied for first on the beam with scores of 9.85, while Allen was fourth with a 9.825. All three Golden Rams registered career-high scores in this event as West Chester registered a 48.950, which was the team's highest score in this event since it set a new program record during the 2017 season. Kissinger and
Madison Whitaker (Lancaster, Pa.) also turned in strong efforts in this event, finishing with scores of 9.750, which was a career-high for Kissinger and 9.675, respectively.
Rose Fanara (Fredricksburg, Va.) won the floor exercise with a score of 9.75, leading a trio of Golden Rams who finished, 1,2,3 as Kissinger was second with a score of 9.7 while Lacey was third with a score of 9.65.
