WEST CHESTER, Pa.- Former West Chester University women's soccer player
Maggie Lena (Santa Monica, Cal./Santa Monica) recently signed her first Professional Soccer contract with Israeli women's soccer team F.C. Kiryat Gat.
Lena, who starred for the Golden Rams in each of the last two seasons after joining West Chester as a graduate student transfer from Marquette University, appeared in 41 games for West Chester, earning the start in 23 of those contests. Lena scored seven goals during her time as a Golden Ram, including the game-winner in the National Semifinals victory over Ferris State during West Chester's historic 2022 season. In addition to her seven goals, Lena also provided three assists on her career, finishing her time with the Purple and Gold with 17 total points.
This opportunity in Israel is not Lena's first venture into the International Soccer landscape as the former Golden Ram also starred for
Team USA in the Maccabiah Games last summer, leading her team to the Gold Medal and eventually earning Tournament MVP honors after scoring three goals and assisting on two more over the course of four matches.
Lena will join her new club later this month and prepare to compete with her new team in the Israeli First League and Israeli women's cup while also continuing to work toward the completion of her graduate degree from West Chester University.
