WEST CHESTER, PA - West Chester University's women's tennis team topped visiting Millersville, 5-2, to assume sole possession of first place in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division standings on an overcast and cold Good Friday.
West Chester (7-5, 5-0 PSAC East) got wins at first and third doubles to secure the doubles point against Millersville (5-8, 4-1). The Golden Rams claimed a victory at sixth singles to jump on top 2-0, before Millersville responded with wins at third and fourth singles to knot the match. However, the Golden Rams rattled off wins at fifth, second and first singles to close out the victory and take over the top spot in the standings.
West Chester travels to Bloomsburg next Wednesday.
