BLOOMSBURG, Pa.- The West Chester University women's tennis team returned to action on Thursday at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic Regional Individual Tournament at the Burt Reese Tennis Center on the campus of Bloomsburg University.
In doubles action, the duo of
Sohana Thompson (Fairfield, Oh./The Seven Hills School) and
Gabriella Lerario Dos Santos (Sau Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Dante Alighieri) fell to the Mercyhurst duo of Kayla Dean and Roisin Murphy by a 6-3 final.
In singles play,
Delaney Tingle (Charlotte, N.C./Palm Desert High) made her Golden Ram debut against Gabriela Del Val Del Toro of Slippery Rock, falling by a 6-1, 6-1 final while fellow newcomer
Ashleigh Grooms (Newport, Ky./The Summit Country Day School) dropped her match against Nuria Martin Lopez of Slippery Rock by a 6-0, 6-2 final.
Yuno Oe (Yokohama, Japan/Nihon University Senior High) also kicked off her 2023 season on Thursday afternoon, falling to Luciana Ponce of Edinboro by a 6-1, 6-4 final.
