MEET RESULTS
WEST CHESTER, PA – The Golden Rams men's swim team opened the new season with an impressive sweep over Shippensburg and Southern Connecticut State Friday afternoon inside the Graham Natatorium.

West Chester amassed 210 points to outduel Shippensburg (58) and SCSU (83). Along the way, the men won 14 of the events, 12 of which were first- and second-place efforts with another three being a sweep of the top three spots.
Paul Demesy (Saint Ulrich, France) and
Devin Metzger (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) were both double winners in the pool while
Tyler Czeiner (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) won both boards in the diving competition.

Czeiner posted a score of 212.03 on the 1-meter springboard to outdistance teammate
Boden Burkhart (Walnutport, Pa./Northampton) who was runner up with 211.88. The same duo went 1-2 off the 3-meter boad as well with Czeiner scoring a 213.98 and Burkhart a 204.75.

Demesy dominated the two distance events by winning both the 500-yard freestyle and the 1000. The 1650 was not competed at this event. Demesy won the 1000 in 9 minutes, 42.65 seconds with teammate
Jacob Texter (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) right behind him in 10:04.04. Texter was one of three Golden Rams to pick up their first college win in their first college meet. Texter won the 200 individual medley.
Ryan Lee (Camp Hill, Pa./Camp Hill) took first place in the 200 breaststroke – he was third in the 100 breast – and
Daniel Dunigan (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) won the 200 free.

Metzger won the 50 free and 100 free while swimming the anchor leg of the 200 medley relay that led off the season-opening meet with a first-place showing.
Dalton Fink was second in the pool on that medley relay. He also finished runner-up in the 50 free to Metzger and the 100 butterfly to teammate
Gabe Laslo (Wind Gap, Pa./Nazareth Academy). Laslo's winning time was 51.06 seconds.

Nolan Benner (Green Lane, Pa./Boyertown),
Joel Dunnigan (York, Pa./Dallastown) and
Kolos Nagy (Szazhalombatta, Hungary) were also winners on Friday in the 100 breast, 200 fly and 200 backstroke, respectively.

West Chester will be off for two weeks before heading to New York University for a meet on Oct. 14.
