BOISE, ID - West Chester University flies the friendly skies this weekend when the Golden Rams travel west to Boise, Idaho, for a quad meet with the Broncos, Air Force and San Jose State. It will be the first meeting for Boise State and San Jose State while Air Force and West Chester meet up in the regular season for the first time. The two often cross paths each year at the U.S.A. Gymnastics Women's Collegiate Championships.
West Chester put up a very impressive showing in its season opener at No. 25 Maryland. The Golden Rams broke three school records against the Terps, despite dropping the match. Junior
Jordan Coleman (Bowie, Md.) won the uneven bars with a new school reocrd 9.925. As a result, she copped Gymnastics East (GEC) Specialist of the Week. Fellow Maryland native
Lily McFarland (Baltimore, Md.) and junior
Natalie Marshall (Bolton, Mass.) each broke the school record on the balance beam. West Chester's overall team score of 193.775 was the highest season-opening mark in school history while its score of 48.6 on the bars was the fifth best in school history. Senior
Kristina Rodriguez (Cincinnati, Ohio) set a new personal best on the vault with a score of 9.7. She finished seventh overall. Fellow senior
Kiley Fred (Highland Mills, N.Y.) posted a new personal high on the floor exercise with a 9.8. She tied for fourth on the floor as a result. Freshman
Corinne Gruber (Barto, Pa.) put up a 9.725 on the floor in her first college competition.
