Last Time Out
West Chester concluded non-league play with a loss at Georgian Court on Monday night, falling to the Lions by a 3-0 final in its second match in three days. West Chester quickly found itself in a 2-0 deficit, dropping the first and second sets by 25-17 and 25-16 margins. West Chester battled throughout the third, giving Georgian Court all it could handle in the final set, but the Lions called a late timeout, which halted some Golden Ram momentum and lifted the hosts to a 25-20 victory in the set and a 3-0 win in the match. Julia Kwitchoff (Niagara Falls, N.Y/Niagara Wheatfield) led the team in kills with six, while Lacie Brown (Cochranville, Pa./Avon Grove) posted a team-best 21 assists in the loss.
Flock Talk
Anna Richardson (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) is first on the team in kills with 206, while Zoe Haines (York, Pa./York Suburban) is a close second with 204. Brown is first on the team in assists (598) and aces (28), while Sydney Heffner (Bath, Pa./Northampton) leads the group in digs with 289. Kwitchoff is first on the team in blocks with 48, while Nicole Dimiris (Hockessin, Del./Saint Mark’s) is a close second with 47.
Home Again, Home Again
West Chester returns home for another two home matches this weekend and will be home for four of the final six matches of the year, including the two this weekend. West Chester travels to East Stroudsburg and Kutztown next weekend before ending the season at home vs Shepherd and Shippensburg on November 15 and 16.
Need a Run
West Chester is seventh in the PSAC standings entering the final three weeks of the regular season. The Golden Rams are, however, just one match into their second half of PSAC East play, so a chance does exist for the team to make a run and steal a playoff spot. If that run is going to happen, West Chester needs to start it this weekend with a sweep of Lock Haven and Bloomsburg. Millersville and Bloomsburg are currently tied for the fourth and final spot in the PSAC Tournament at 4-4 on the year.
Happening This Weekend
West Chester will host Summer Camper Night and its annual Food Drive benefitting the Chester County Food Cupboard on Friday night vs. Lock Haven, while Saturday will be the team’s annual Team Impact Day with teammate Eva Nelson.
Series History
West Chester holds a 7-2 lead in the all-time series over Bloomsburg after splitting the season against the Huskies for the first time a year ago and losing the opening-game of the series in 2024. Against Lock Haven, West Chester is just 10-30 vs the Bald Eagles, although the Golden Rams have won 10 out of 12 since 2015, including a 3-0 win over Lock Haven earlier this season.
Scouting Lock Haven
Lock Haven enters play with a record of 5-13 overall and a mark of 3-5 in league play after dropping a pair of non-league matches in New York last weekend against D’Youville and Roberts Wesleyan. The Bald Eagles have also won just one of their last four league matches, posting an exciting 3-2 win over Bloomsburg while falling to ESU, Shepherd, and Shippensburg by 3-0, 3-0, and 3-1 finals, respectively.
Against Roberts Wesleyan, Lock Haven battled throughout the night but fell by a 25-20, 25-14, 25-20 final on Sunday afternoon for its second loss of the weekend. Avery Beall led the way in kills with eight, while Kelly Gaston led in aces (two), assists (30), and digs (nine) in the setback.

Scouting Bloomsburg
Bloomsburg enters play with a record of 7-14 overall and 4-4 in league play following a 3-2 loss against Lock Haven on October 25, which marked the Huskies' third PSAC East setback in a row. Before visiting West Chester on Saturday afternoon, the Huskies will travel to Millersville for the second game of their season series against the Marauders, hoping to complete a season sweep after winning the first meeting by a 3-0 final on October 4.
Against Lock Haven, Bloomsburg captured the first set by a 25-18 final but quickly found itself down 2-1 after dropping the second and third sets by 26-24 and 25-20 finals. In the fourth, Bloomsburg rallied back and triumphed by a 25-17 final to force a decisive fifth set. The fifth set was as close as close could be with the two teams trading points throughout, but Lock Haven escaped with the 16-14 victory to win the rivalry match by a 3-2 final.
