LOCK HAVEN, PA – West Chester University landed six players on the 2024 all-conference squad while junior quarterback,
Cooper Jordan (Downingtown, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) walked away with offensive player of the year honors in the Eastern Division of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Wednesday afternoon.
Jordan, who was the Eastern Division rookie of the year in 2022, picked up his second major award from the conference in his three years in college while collecting his first all-conference certificate in the process. The three-year starter under center for West Chester led the Golden Rams wins in four of its last six games, including an upset over Shepherd.
Jordan was one of four Golden Rams named to the first team squad. His primary target all year long in the passing game, wide receiver
D'Shaun Seals (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) was a repeat performer on the top unit while earning his third all-league citation overall. He was a second-team pick in 2022. Red-shirt junior linebacker,
Connor Noble (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) was first team on the defense for the second straight campaign while safety
Shane Mosley (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) collected his first all-league nod.
A pair of Golden Rams appeared on the second team with their initial selections to the All-PSAC East roster. Senior place-kicker,
Sean Henry (Reading, Pa./Wilson) makes his second appearance on an all-league squad, and senior defensive back
Abdul Stewart (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) rounded out West Chester's honorees with his first all-conference nod.
Jordan becomes the 11th Golden Rams player to be named the Eastern Division Offensive Player of the Year since 1986 and the fourth quarterback. He is the fifth player across the Eastern Division to earn rookie of the year accolades and then go on to win player of the year later in their college career. Jordan will have a chance to join elite company next year with Bloomsburg's Jamar Brittingham, who is the only player in the Eastern Division to win rookie of the year (2004) and go on to win player of the year twice (2005, 2007). Jordan is the third quarterback to take home both rookie and player of the year plaudits in the East. Kutztown's Mike DeMarteleire (1998, 2000) and East Stroudsburg's Matt Soltes (2012, 2015) were the other two.
Jordan led the Golden Rams' offense in four key categories. He was the team's leading rusher, leading passer, leading scorer and all-purpose yardage leader this past fall. The local product plucked from West Chester University's backyard set career standards with 147 completions on 252 attempts for 1,948 yards and 15 touchdown passes. On the ground, his 916 rushing yards on 155 carries with nine more touchdowns and a 5.9 average yards per rush, along with 91.6 rushing yards per game, were all career bests as well. His 54 points were also a career high while his 959 all-purpose yards and 24 TDs responsible for each set a new personal record. Jordan was twice named the PSAC East athlete of the week during the regular season.
West Chester's flashy quarterback ranked second in the PSAC in rushing yards and 30th in Division II. He was second among all QBs in rushing yards in the country as well. Jordan ranked second in the PSAC in rushing yards per game and 23rd in Division II. Additionally, he ranked third in PSAC in rushing TDs and rushing yards per game.
Seals makes his third appearance on the all-league team after leading the team in receptions, yards and TD receptions. His seven TD catches ranked fifth in the PSAC and 44th in Division II while his 745 yards receiving ranked seventh in the PSAC. He also ranked fifth in the PSAC in receptions per game (5.6). Within the Eastern Division, Seals ranked second in receptions and third in yards.
Seals closed out his college football career with 56 receptions for 745 yards and seven touchdowns this past fall. Those receptions and TD totals are the most in a single season by a Golden Rams receiver since the pandemic. Seals caught a combined 100 passes over the last two campaigns. Jordan's favorite target in the passing game over the past two campaigns put a lid on his time at West Chester with 128 catches for 1,788 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also completed all three passes he attempted in the last two years – one for a TD.
Noble was the anchor of West Chester's defense that dramatically improved as the year progressed. He finished the 2024 season with a career-high 117 tackles and intercepted two passes while forcing two fumbles. He ranked second overall in the PSAC in tackles while leading the Eastern Division in stops. That total was good for fourth in all of Division II. His 79 assisted tackles was second overall in the PSAC and ranks third all-time at WCU. Had the middle linebacker had one more regular-season game, he very well could have broken that record. He was credited with three QB hurries. Noble's stellar fall followed an equally impressive 2023 season when he was named
Don Hansen FB Gazette honorable mention All-America and a second team Super Region 1 selection. He was a finalist for the Cliff Harris Award and will be up for the same award again this winter.
Mosley was the team captain and the glue that kept the defense together. From his safety position, he finished second on the team in tackles with 79, including 4.5 tackles for a loss, two interceptions and nine passes defensed. He also returned one of his interceptions for a touchdown against Lock Haven. He made 34 solo stops and even blocked a kick. The grad student ranked 11th overall in the PSAC in tackles.
Stewart transferred into West Chester for his final year of eligibility, and he fit right in immediately at cornerback. He was seventh on the team in tackles with 45. He intercepted two passes and was credited with 13 passes defensed to go along with one QB hurry. He ranked second in the PSAC in passes defensed and first in the Eastern Division. Stewart ranked 15th in all of Division II in passes defensed as well.
Henry, a second team All-PSAC East selection in 2022, made good on 34 of his 35 extra-point attempts and nailed a career-long 50-yard field goal against Seton Hill early on in the year. He had a streak of three straight converted field goals going early in the season as well. The senior registered 12 touchbacks and averaged nearly 58 yards on 49 kickoffs during the year.
West Chester's six representatives on the all-conference football team is three more than last year's and the most since the Golden Rams put seven on the 2022 squad.
