STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.- Matt Remishofski (Wall, N.J./Wall) placed second in the mile with a new PR and PSAC Qualifying time of 4 minutes and 16.55 seconds to lead the West Chester University men's track and field squad at the Wagner College Shootout on Friday night in the Golden Rams final meet of 2024.
Damian Simpson (Easton, Pa./Wilson) led a host of Golden Rams in the 60 meters with an 11
th-place finish in 7.01 seconds, while
Amarre Mayo (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) was close behind in 14
th in 7.05 seconds as the lone other Golden Ram in the top-15. These performances serve as PSAC qualifying times and new PRs for both Simpson and Mayo.
Jason Vogt (Southampton, Pa./William Tennent) continued a strong night for the Golden Ram distance crew with a sixth-place finish in the 3K in 8:44.25, which served as both a PR and PSAC Qualifying time.
Jason Shumaker (Norristown, Pa./Methacton) hit a new PR of his own in this event, crossing the line in 9:00.16 to finish 11
th.
Matt Landis (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) also set a new PR in the 3K, crossing the line in 21
st with a time of 9:20.23.
Chase Hildebrand (Chalfont, Pa.) led West Chester in the 300 meters with a 41
st-place finish in 36.71 seconds, while
Billy Zane (Springfield, Pa./Springfield Delco) led the Golden Rams in the 600 with a 10
th-place finish in 1:23.18.
Daniel Schikel (Prospect Park, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) set a new PR and improved upon his PSAC Qualifying time in the 60-meter hurdles with a sixth-place finish in 8.33 seconds.
West Chester also finished 10
th in the 4x200 relay in 1:32.77 and ninth in the 4x400 relay in 3:35.88.
In the field events, West Chester landed three in the top six of the pole vault as
Sammy Jenkins (Malvern, Pa./Conestoga) placed third with a mark of 14 feet 9 inches (4.50m), which also served as a PSAC Qualifying mark.
Devin Carlson-Swank (Elliotsburg, Pa./Connections Charter) took fifth with a mark of 14-3 ¼ (4.35m) and
Daniel Couse (Sewell, N.J./Clearview) took sixth with a mark of 13-3 ½ (4.05m).
Chase Parkinson (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) narrowly missed out on a PSAC Qualifying mark of his own in the triple jump as he finished eighth with a mark of 44-8 ¾ (13.63m).
Dayshawn Jacobs (West Chester, Pa./Rustin) took 10
th in the triple jump with a mark of 44-2 (13.46m), before finishing 11th in the long jump with a mark of 22-4 ¼ (6.81m), which was .03 meters shy of his PR from December 2023 and served as a PSAC Qualifying mark.
