Women's Track and Field Competes at Big Apple Invitational

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.- The West Chester University women's track and field squad returned to action on Saturday evening at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex for the Big Apple Cup.

Kamryn Fontaine (DuBois, Pa./ DuBois Area) started things off for the Golden Rams in the women's 60-meter hurdles placing 13th with a time of 10.28 seconds.

Genevieve McDonald (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) ran a personal best time of 8.16 seconds in the 60-meter dash placing 11th. Right behind her was Gabrielle Curtis (Harrisburg, Pa./C.D. East), with a time of 8.26 seconds for 17th place.  Katja Larsen (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) also ran a time of 8.32 seconds, falling just outside the top 20 in the 60-meter dash, placing 21st.

Ellie Goldberg (West Deptford, Nj. /West Deptford) ran a time of 2:29.08 in the 800-meter dash. This serves as a new personal best for the sophomore.
Josey George (Oxford, Ga./ Walnut Grove) ran a time of 2:36.26 in the 800-meter dash and placed 21st.


Emily Donegan (Hershey/Pa./Hershey) cleared a PSAC Qualifying height of 10 feet 10 inches in the Pole Vault to finish 12th in this event as well.  

Emma Bronowicz (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) cleared a height of 9-10, putting her just outside of the top 20.

In the Women's Weight Throw, Adrianna Bryant (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) put up a throw of 41 feet and 10 inches. Behind her was Emma Deyarmin (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) with a throw of 34-3.

Katie Pieslak (Yardley, Pa./ Pennsbury) placed 18th in the Long Jump with a mark of 16- 11 ¼. The Junior also placed 15th in the Triple Jump with a mark of 35-0 ½.

The women's 4x400 relay team placed fourth and ran a time of 4:13.70, marking their best time of the season.

Up Next:

West Chester will return to action next Friday night for the final meet of the 2023-24 Indoor Regular Season at Penn State before heading to the PSAC Championships at Lehigh University on February 18 and 19.
