THE SCOOP FOR THE WEEK
• West Chester University hits the road for the first time in 2024 when the Golden Rams travel to Long Island to take on Adelphi University in a non-league contest Thursday afternoon. They have a quick turnaround following that tilt with a home match against Bloomsburg the following night at Vonnie Gros Field. It marks the third time in the last four years that the Golden Rams will play games back-to-back on consecutive days.
• West Chester shows a perfect 7-0 mark all-time against Adelphi, dating back to 2013, including a pair of wins in the first round of the NCAA Division II Field Hockey Tournament. However, last fall, the Golden Rams' 2-1 victory was the closest contest between the two schools in those seven meetings.
• The Bloomsburg contest is the beginning of a four-game homestand over the next two weeks that will have seen the Golden Rams open the campaign with six home games out of the first seven on the slate. Though the Huskies are a rival in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), Friday's battle will be considered a non-conference affair. The two sides will meet Oct. 1 in Bloomsburg for the encounter that will be a league match.

WCU GAME DAY INFORMATION
• Friday's game against Bloomsburg is Camper Appreciation Day. All kids who attended West Chester University Field Hockey Summer Camp this past year are welcomed back to Vonnie Gros Field to watch the Purple & Gold. WCU's official mascot, Rammy, will be on hand for the contest to meet and greet the kids.

DUECES WILD ON SUNDAY
• West Chester defeated Bentley University, 6-1, on Sunday afternoon at Vonnie Gros. The Golden Rams received a pair of goals from both Jasmine Miller (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) and Adriana Palumbo (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) while Gianna Funari (Voorhees, N.J./Bishop Eustace) and Paige Wolfe (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) each chipped in a pair of assists. For Palumbo, it marked her first multiple-goal game in her college career. For Miller, she moved into a tie for ninth place on the school's all-time Division II scoring list with Michelle Schrift at 32. Next up on the scoring list for Miller is current West Chester assistant coach, Alexis Versak, and current Lehigh head coach, Kelsi Lykens, who each scored 33 goals while playing at Division II.
