Golden Rams Face Off Against The Rock on Senior Day

GOLDEN RAMS FACE OFF AGAINST THE ROCK ON SENIOR DAY
• West Chester (6-2), the newly anointed No. 5 team in the weekly NFHCA Division II poll, will go head-to-head against Slippery Rock (2-3) at Vonnie Gros Field.
• West Chester is coming off a thrilling 1-0 double overtime win at Mansfield that extended its win streak to a modest two games. West Chester returns to Vonnie Gros field for the seventh time in nine games, while Slippery hopes to get back on track after three straight losses.
• West Chester will celebrate its senior class on Senior Day in a brief ceremony before the game.  Senior forward Jasmine Miller has appeared in every game only missing one start, and led the Golden Rams in scoring last season with 18 goals, six of which were game winning scores. Senior back Morgan Becker has been a consistent starter with 29 starts in the past two seasons and has provided a strong defensive presence. Senior forward Millie Gallagher has made 21 total appearances the last two seasons. Senior midfield Adriana Palumbo started all 17 games last season, led all field players in minutes played, and was named third team All-PSAC. Senior midfield Mackenzie Reese has made 16 game appearances the last two seasons and got playoff experience in the 2022 NCAA Tournament. She has held down a starting role this fall for the majority of the games. Grad Student Paige Wolfe has started every game the previous three seasons, finished second on the team in scoring last season, and was named first team All-PSAC. Grad Student Goalkeeper Ryan Curley has appeared in and started all eight games so far this season.

ABOUT SLIPPERY ROCK
• Slippery Rock (2-3) nearly upset undefeated Newberry College its last time out. The game was a defensive clash that saw the Wolves score on a penalty corner that would be the only goal scored in the contest. The Rock fired away in the closing minutes, but was shut out by the Wolves, falling 1-0.
• Saturday's game against West Chester will mark the beginning of their conference play portion of their schedule, as they will play conference opponents in nine of their final 11 contests. For The Rock, seniors Bailee Christman and Gianna Conti are tied for the team lead in goals scored with three apiece, while Christman and sophomore Hilary Hoffman are tied for the lead in assists with two each. Goalkeeper Grace Burker has a .630 save percentage with 300 total minutes played.
 
THE GOLDEN RAMS vs THE ROCK OVER THE YEARS
• West Chester has accumulated a 13-1 series lead against Slippery Rock in a rivalry that goes back nearly 50 years to 1976. Slippery Rock has failed to score a goal against West Chester in the last six matchups with its last score coming in a 4-3 victory for The Rock. West Chester is also 12-1 at home against Slippery Rock all-time.
• The Rock is looking for their first win against the Golden Rams since 2017 and hope to get the taste of recent defeats out of their mouth. West Chester has had their number in recent years with six straight shutout wins, and have only allowed seven total goals to Slippery Rock since 2015. West Chester will hope to extend its series lead to 14-1 this Saturday.
